Coalition for a Drug-Free Hawaii

An inspiring group of people working to reduce and prevent drug abuse in Hawaii through awareness, education, and action. Gum Design coordinated with the communications company Hastings & Pleadwell, and Drug-Free Hawaii to revamp their website. Gum Design provided technology, design and domain assistance to improve their web presence and further their mission.

Hawaii Scenic Byways

Hawaii is proud to join the ranks of other states with the official launch to their scenic byways program website. Gum Design worked in collaboration with agencies to develop the website, complete with custom dynamic Google maps. Hawaii’s Scenic Byways Program showcases roads throughout Hawaii that have an important story to tell to both local residents and visitors.

Farm to Fork Hawaii

Hawaii has great restaurants and fine chefs, but Farm to Fork Hawaii takes this combination one step further by highlighting, “amazing agriculture and world class Chefs.” Emily Peackock organizes locavore dinners which showcase the culinary arts in Hawaii and create a dialogue about supporting our local agriculture and community. Farm to Fork needed a site fast, quality site, and was a perfect match for our new service – TropicalSites.

Kohala Zipline

Kohala Zipline, sister company of Hawaii Forest and Trails, launched a new kind of zipline in North Kohala this month. The website needed to capture the “Ariel Playground” atmosphere of the course, allow online booking and cross sell HFT tours. Really an unique experience, Kohala Zipline is more than just entertainment, it’s an experience with the environment and people you encounter.

Waters of Life Charter School

Waters of Life needed an economical website that allowed their teachers to better communicate with students and parents. We utilized the WordPress platform to allow admins to update critical information, like registration forms and schedules. We’ve provided a login for each teacher to add their websites, contact information and classroom information.

Hamakua Hairbrush Co. - A Brush with Destiny

A new company from a longtime client, Windline Pacific, the Hamakua hairbrush Co. contracted Gum Design to develop its fourth website to promote a new product li.e. this website utilizes WordPress with an external shopping cart.

Gum Design was responsible for developing cohesive Internet brand from already established branding materials. We programmed the site, integrated the shopping cart and configured the products.

Paniolo Heritage Center

Dedicated to promoting and preserving rich paniolo heritage of Hawaii, Paniolo Preservation Society was able to acquire use of Pukalani Stables. They’ve renovated the stables to make a heritage center, enriching the community and furthering their their mission. Gaining support through online promotion was key to the director’s goals. We opted to use WordPress and it’s great blogging, social networking and rich media capabilities. Next time your in Waimea, stop by the Paniolo Heritage Center at Pukalani Stables.

CTSA needed a website they could update, but retain the quality of leadership they’ve earned. We selected Expression Engine as the CMS foundation and customized the database to best fit the content type.

Aha Punana Leo is forging ahead with their mission to promote the Hawaiian language, this time online. Gum Design developed this multi-language site in Expression Engine. Hawaii Forest & Trail - Refreshing & Enticing

Hawaii Forest and Trail generously took our team out of the office and into the woods for some creative refreshments. We spent a day looking at birds, learning about ecology, evolution and how nice it is to be around energetic, enthusiastic people. Their company philosophy – conserve, preserve, educate – became clear on our tour and its message was carried into the new website. Featuring fantastic imagery to showcases the tours, the site is peppered with fancy subtleties, like video overlay and mobile access, that makes visitors experience positive and enticing.

Hanamana Boat Charters

We are always thankful when our customers trust us enough to refer our web services to their friends, family and business associates. Hanamana Boat Charters, with Captain Chip Fisher, was a fun project. We enjoy living vicariously through photos and customer testimonials telling the story of lives, experiences and memories. One woman tracked Captain Fisher down to thank him for the memory her father’s 515 lb. marlin story, which had been relived over the past 26 years.
